Thanks to the UK Songwriting Contest judges/staff for all their midnight oil in choosing top songs for 2011.

The 3 main judges were pop producers:-
* Richard Niles (Paul McCartney, Kylie Minogue, Boy Zone, Take That, Mariah Carey, Cliff Richard)
* Stuart Ebbs (Elton John, Robbie Williams, Led Zeppelin, Bill Wyman, Paul Weller, Oasis)
* Simon Ellis (Brit Award Winner,S Club 7, Britney Spears)

Of The UFR's 13 songs entered, five got into the Semi-Final stage (two got 8/10 & three got 7/10 scores). The rest got commendations.

There were approx 6000 song entries. In the words of the judges:-
"Songs with a score of 7 or 8 are awarded a semi finalist position and certificate and are considered by the judges to be among the top songs in the contest. A score of 8 indicates that the song was a borderline finalist and almost made it into the finals."

Dear Diary.....

Music is an amazing gift......it has a way of gripping the emotions like nothing else does....I feel especially blessed that music remains an anchor within our home because of the love Chris has for this marvellous gift. It is routed deep within him, and as his wife, I am often surprised at the Song that is birthed through him. He is a vessel for this gifting, and I hope that you can take this journey with us and enjoy the different shapes and sizes it comes in.
